This may sound silly, but is there a reason why the mountfix uses symlinks instead of just extracting the content into the Source SDK Base 2007 folder ?.
Kinda looks like this would fix the wrong symlinking folder issuse, along with allowing an uninstall feature.

The reason for symlinking is so you get the maps mounted too. You can still extract the content from the vpk into Source SDK Base 2007 but you won't get the maps unless you copy and paste them over.

Copied the folders first, then extracted the vpks one by one following the hl1/hl2/episodic/ep2/dod/cstrike folder structure and everything works.
Curious though, has anyone tried updating the gameinfo.txt to mount the games normally via their vpks?.

a similar method to that has been tried and it failed because the mod does not reference the required interface to access the vpks. It only references the old gcf interface. To gain access to the vpks the mod itself has to be updated.

I know probably alot of people have asked this, but is their any chance the mod would be updated this month?.

Currently I run a fairly popular Synergy server and I would love to move that fun over to Obsidian Conflict but as it stands I don't think I'd get many to make the switch if they have to extract 12 gigabytes of data to enjoy all the benefits.

Yes the mountfix makes it easier but it doesn't always get the right directories plus not many people like to run .exe files which fix mods not to mention the fact not everyone has the extra space for all the excess data.

Also thanks for answering all my previous questions.

That's unlikely to happen. The progress is from nothing to very slow and would probably take months with the current team.

It should. I'm on Win10, and I had no problems reinstalling the mod (and the mounts work well).

Steampipe made OC more unstable, so yes, you might crash for no reason. It would be at least more stable in Source 2013...
