Null as in the void. :P
Ive had nightmares about the void back when I first started mapping Half-Life 1. So mysterious. I remember the tutorials, "Don't leave holes in your map or the void will enter and steal your lighting!!!!"

Hahaha! I remember things like that from HL1 mapping...
