I would like to build up a repository of visually impressive screenshots of the mod for use in official/semi official media and other OC related projects. I'm looking for visually pleasing images of the maps and gameplay, and without a hud if possible. Other restrictions include: no custom models or maps, and no sprays or chatlogs. You can have images of you and your friends playing, just be sure you have default playermodels and weapons.

Alternate angles (via noclip) are acceptable, as long as they show off something. Finally, the higher the resolution and graphics settings, the better.

There is no need to edit the screenshots, I am fully capable of doing that.

Some questions:

What is the command to hide the HUD?

What is the list of default playermodels and maps?

Is necesary hide the weapon? how?

cl_hidehud 1 cl_drawhud 0

The other 'hidehud' dosent have any effect.
Also to hide weapons should you wish = impulse 200

Also can you be more specific about weapons i.e I assume you don't want the sniper or oicw in the pics?
And what about resolutions as high as possible I assume?

I mean no weapons in general, like the hud. The less overlay, the more I can do with the screenshot. If there is a weapon, I'll take any that are custom to the mod (IE Alyxgun, manhack, uzis, etc) or any HL2 default ones, but I'd still prefer one without them at all.

No particular resolution, just the best you can muster with your graphics card or whatnot.

Alright I'll get some good screenshots pumped. But I can't really promise anything because there are a lot of custom models used. Is there like a to force people to show as default characters? (Clientside code ofc.)

Or else I'll just delete all the playermodel add-ons for a while. But that will mean everybody will be the same girl or the same black man. Which is strange because people always seem to pick the guy that looks like John Fröhman.

Anyway I'll get some for ya.

The main commands are:

cl_drawhud 0
crosshair 0
r_drawviewmodel 0

So I got bored and wanted to make some screenshots. So I started a listen server, put in the commands and noclip for some sweet spots.
After a good 5 minutes or so I press escape for the menu and it won't come up. So I press pretty much every button that could make a difference and nothing happens.
When I press y it makes my view go up instead of bringing up the chat... Screenshots still worked so I went on. Then a minute later I got the ATi glitch. Fuuuu.
So I turned off static and it's fine.. ???

ATI glitch while playing a map? I have an ATI card and have only had that problem entering certain maps(after starting up the game) without coming from lobby first.

Sorry I'm late, whilst I'm taking pictures for OC's Valve wiki page, I'll upload what I think are good pictures here in this very post. (Sorry no multiplayer action though, maybe later). More will come as I work on the page...

Hmm, lol I did notice in the ss, but convinved myself that it was how it was (i mean not fullbright) I'll double check that ingame in a minute and get back to you.

Sorry, like I said in PM I think I mixed up some materials whilst mapping.
Removed that pic and will possible remove the antlion_attack pic as I suspect the tree there isnt how its supposed to look...

The Valve oc wiki no-longer needs map images in the above form as there's just too many maps to have images for. Instead I've added a list of maps with links to OC's official wiki.

The media gallery on that page can now be used for show casing features...(There are image 12 slots to fill/replace).

I would suggest:

* Pictures of campaign maps (hl2,lc,ep1,ep2,hls)
* Picture of a load of Player Models in game; Valve 'non copyright' (the wiki says you can use anything valve copyrighted) hence any player models we have from Valve games is fair game (the dev team could all meet up and do a line up as other hl2 characters, css, tf2 w/e).
* Picture from a cs:s mapadd (showing a cs:s weapon in-use)
* Picture of custom weapons?
* Picture of someone using the merchant (shows hud)
* Some one buying stuff using merchant relay (prehaps a nice shot from harvest)
* Team play picture?
* Lives picture?
* weapons picture
* custom weapons picture
*custom hud colors (show a weapon/s, ingame chat, flash light and anything else that has custom colour scoreboard maybe?)

Basically 12 pictures so cram as much as possible into each, make'em count.

Also been thinking have you guys considered including oc_modify generator into the mod's installer (I think it should come with the mod in the SDK folder) are you allowed to include applications like that? , then you could have a screenshot of someone operating that, or just have a screenshot anyway.

And finally I've added 2 spaces to the wiki where you can display two wallpapers (I added the old grunt ones) hint, hint: LT_C makes us a couple of kickarse wall papers to replace them. Basically here you upload two thumbnail images and on there file pages add links of-site to the actual full size images.

So finally, what I'm trying to say is I'll be trying for a different type of screenshot from what I started to post though next time I'm bored I'll continue with those too.

Also some other mods show of their awards on the wiki page, we dont really have any awards but we do have these:

They are from the site, _sized.jpg are the smaller thumbnail format of the images uploaded.
