Anyone got any tips for spring cleaning folders hl2/oc etc

Post by fug4life »

I've spent I don't know how long backing up my maps and I've just been deleting all the old stuff out of my hl2/mapssrc and oc/maps

Any other folders you guys can suggest I can delete past compiled map info and etc from hl2 folders/oc folders, u know stuff that's not needed?

It's my own fault I save, rename and compile way too often! :(

The only place it puts the intermediate compile files in is the folder where your vmf is saved, along with the bsp, then copies the bsp to the game's maps folder.

Good, good. I've cleaned both of those. Thanks for info!

I got other files lying about in the my oc folder that I must have put in random places at random times by mistake. I'm gonna try tidy it up, maybe a fresh install once 1.3 comes :)

I find the easiest (and more importantly fastest) way to clean is to just delete the .bsp's, .vmt's and anything not .vmf's from your mapsrc folders. Seems to free up a lot of space every time i do it.
