oc_trashstand [Trash Stand] --V2

V2 out.

After 2 months of development and 1 month of playtesting, Trash Stand has been released! - Sorry for the long wait, I finished this ages ago and just forgot to upload it :oops:

Now:


It is based around teamwork and rounds.
If you played Nazi Zombies on COD:WAW then you will like this map.

It is based around 10 rounds. As you kill every NPC in one round, it begins the next round.

The current rounds are:
-Zombie
-Zombie and Zombie Torso
-Fast Zombie and Zombie and Zombie Torso
-Poison Zombie and Zombine and Fast Zombie and Zombie and Zombie Torso
-Antlions
-Antlions and Antlion Workers
-Antlions and Antlion Workers (increased HP) and Antlion Guard on round end - becoming harder on half health
-Bullsquids and Houndeyes
-Alien Grunts and Vortigaunts
-Headcrab Canister Rape then Combine

Once all 10 rounds are completed, you wait to board a helicopter that will take you away, in the style of a Left 4 Dead finale.

Had a quick game on my own, its small and could perhaps benefit from the nature side of things having a bit of an overhaul. grass texture/spites tree card etc. But I like it, I like the fact its a non-mount required map.
I like the fact its in a junk yard (been dreaming of a map like this).
And I like the fact its lives. I've been making one or two pieces with one life. And I like the difficulty.

P.s. got killed 3-4 waves in :( will play more later, hopefully with others.

music great, death scene made me laugh and I like the way the map starts. Can't wait to see the choppers in action.

Well done, and thanks for breaking a bit of a dry period in public released maps :)

Yeah, I kinda rushed the tree cars and the outside environment. Hopefully in a quick update next week, I'll release a new version with a 3d skybox and a few fixes.

Server pack now ready for download if you wish to host this.

For next version, make the fog blend better with the skybox. make it about the same color as the skybox texture.
You may wanna use photoshop or something to get the correct RGB values.

Gonna test this soon.

Nice map,but I Couldn't hold on round 4 :( ,
also,do you need to toggle the generator after you found the gnome,
or you need to use it like 7 times?
Please don't take my posts before 2013 too seriously. It will be better for both you and I :c

I know, i'll improve the fog by changing the values like you said, and i'll set a FarZ range and see how it looks.

This is a great map. It was one of my most fun experiences on OC. But there were some downsides.
It was too easy at times; I also didn't really feel like some enemies used their full power against the team and sometimes the weapons placement made it too easy.

The attacks by the Xen creatures were fun. The spawn placement seemed to be alot more suitable for the others than the zombies though which seemed like it coulda been harder. Maybe some weaker antlion guard appearances for the antlions.

The combine was another very fun round though this is the main part where it seemed like they coulda done better. There were unarmed metropolice for one. Would be nice if more of the metrocops had manhacks to close the distance since the combine seemed very defensive. Cameras and defenders woulda also been nice for the beginning. Kinda making it where you have to find cover or else you will either get wasted by the defenders or headcrab pods. The occasional mortar synth woulda also been a good supporting unit, being that they were a combine weapon. If you asked me it woulda been a good setup for a boss battle. Like the combine just take all their technology and unleash it on you, sending in mortar synths, defenders (though they probably shouldn't have alot of hp considering they do tons more damage than other combine), some hunters (weakened a bit though, kinda making the defenders and hunters slightly stronger equivalents to standard combine infantry in that part), (I think manhacks wouldn't fit in very well here) and maybe even cameras come that would drop mines coming in. Like they just float over the map and trigger some sort of hoppermine spawn that latch to the ground.

Still these are just some ideas. I really loved the map.

i played the map and it got stuck after we beat the xen creatures.
the combine never came.
anime watcher and manga reader and doesnt care what others think of it.

Same,happent on the server yesterday,no sign of stuck NPCs.
Please don't take my posts before 2013 too seriously. It will be better for both you and I :c

Was it stuck with only 1 NPC left and you couldn't find it? Or did it say "Time Until Wave X..." and then after nothing happened?
