Re: Oc_Paysan help
Those errors are due to the required content not being mounted. Valve's transition to Steampipe a while back broke the mounting system, so you'll have to resort to the method described in this thread for now (client mount fix). Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Movement stutters/jitters when a map runs for days
Oh, nope - what you're looking for is in fact the -tickrate <value> switch. Actually, I'll just post my entire command line here for reference: srcds.exe -console -noassert -nobreakpad -nogamestats -nohltv -preload -tickrate 66 -game obsidian -insecure +map oc_lobby +fps_max 700 +maxplayers 10 Howev...

Re: Movement stutters/jitters when a map runs for days
Also, afaik servers should usually be run at more than 100 FPS - try adding +fps_max <value> to the server's command line. I use 700, but Source servers typically run at 250-500 FPS. Setting this too high can cause simulation spikes as the (server's) framerate fluctuates too greatly, so don't go cra...

Re: Movement stutters/jitters when a map runs for days
My home server had to reboot before I got a chance to try anything. Next time I play (probably soon this week) I'll fill up a basket of watermelons again. I also thought about possibly lowering the server tickrate from 100 to 33 so it wouldn't have to process the physics options so often. Not sure ...

Re: Movement stutters/jitters when a map runs for days
Hi Adam, thanks for dropping by. Interesting issue, I imagine there's something going on with the simulation that eventually gets bogged down over time (seeing as the significant majority of the maps out there are designed to be completed and trigger a map change as opposed to running indefinitely)....

Re: Getting a new computer. Need help.
I seem to have inverse luck with HDD manufacturers since people have long complained about reliability issues with Maxtor, yet my older drives were fine (until I put them into retirement, anyway).

Oh god, don't even get me started. My luck with Seagate has been absolutely and appallingly horrendous, with three out of four drives already dead (2x 500 GB and 1x 320 GB. All I have left is a 250 GB Momentus 5400.4). Jumped to WD and haven't looked back since.Ny wrote:... dual Seagate Barracudas...

Re: Getting a new laptop. Need help.
That's a performance powerhouse, but 6.6 lbs amounts to... *checks converter* 2.994 Kg, holy crap that's heavy. And I seriously wonder about the battery life, 6 cells doesn't exactly pack a lot of power. :/ Edit : Oh, and for what it's worth, here's a link with the ranking of laptop GPUs. Edit 2 : A...

Re: What are you listening to?
I like this more than the rest of the BF2 themes above, for some reason. Maybe it's the speech in the background. "Hit it!"

Re: When you play..
Fankserver, was that? Perhaps I've gotten that mixed up with the 1.35 era, because I remember that deafening chaos of OICW gunshots on oc_starship_troopers in the latter. Will probably never forget what that was like. :v [thumbnail]http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/98419558-4.jpg[/thumbnail] Anyway, I h...

The nostalgia. Listening to this actually sends chills running down my neck and spine, though it's obviously not in fear or anything. >.>
