That bears a striking resemblance to the backdrop I made for general team use. Although mine lacks all the fancy non-computer interfaces and exploding lens flare citadel. The model is pretty blocky and the texture doesn't look like much more then some basic colors with some basic shaders. The animations cause the trail to of the shot to look lie it's firing downwards, which just looks strange. It's a nice start, but it has a long way to go.

There's no reason to work with normalmaps unless you know the diffuse is pretty much exactly how you want it, or they were baked from high poly. I used to make normals after major texture iterations, but I moved it to the second to last step of my workflow after wasting so much time having to propag...

C17: EP1. It doesn't bring a lot to the table in terms of gameplay, but the fact that it's going to be released with the code to all of it's amazing graphical features(DOF, Sunbeams, faster and better shadowmapping, dynamic sunlight, advanced shader effects, and more!) puts it at the top of my list...
