[SOLVED] Too Many Light Styles...

I have a warehouse type room (very big) that has about 20 light_spots in it, and I keep getting a "too many light styles on a face at ..." All of the surrounding textures are really messed up. The lighting looks very square and blocky and doesn't fade smoothly except for a few areas. FYI t...

That's most likely caused by assigning model textures to said brushes, and has nothing to do with the light itself. Try replacing the textures with others that don't have any "model" or "prop" in their name/path. If you really want the textures you have right now, you can also e...

Thank you. Yes areaportals are quite a pain in the ass. is it possible that its doing this because I have an object intersecting the areaportal? I will try to make a test map when I get home. At the moment it seems like a bug to me. It doesn't even produce a prt file when I compile.

The lights are static light_spots. They work fine in every room except the bathroom. I'm not even able to guess as to what could be causing it. I've never seen this happen. Certain brushes will change brightness as you change your distance from them.

Well I haven't set any fall off distances so that isn't the problem. That was the first thing I checked. :)

If it is an OC bug is there a way around it? I can't imagine that all of the maps on OC servers have no portals.

[SOLVED] Areaportals Are Messed Up

I've checked around and as far as I've looked I couldn't find anything that was fixing this problem I'm having. My areaportals, regardless of being an open or closed portal, don't draw whats on the other side of them until you pass through it. I have them set up exactly the way they should be and I ...

What happened was I have automove to field enabled on windows mouse settings. When Hammer was starting up I tried to click on something on my desktop and happened to click right as some weird hammer loading options flashed on and off the screen. So I clicked on something that I couldn't get back to ...

Well I'm not THAT talented at voice acting. I wish I was though. I will be voicing the parts of a black sergeant and a British lieutenant to name a few.

The main barracks in my map is actually structured based on the one from Full Metal Jacket.

I'm planning on having a British character, similar to the guy from Rambo (2008) in my map guiding the players around and such. And if you seen the movie he had quite a nasty mouth. Lots of "fraks" and "shits." And I will be posting some screen shots once I finish all world model...

[SOLVED] All MapTools Work as Camera MapTool Problem

I just experienced an odd problem. Whatever maptool icon I click on, when i click in a viewport, it acts as the camera maptool even though that button is not selected. I tried deleting my sourcesdk folder and it still didn't help. I think I may have to open regedit to change a value but I don't know...

Map Rating & Discretion

Hi, I'm making a map for Obsidian Conflict called "oc_undersiege" and it will be a linear co-op complete with voice acting. I was wondering what kind of discretion should I take with the content of the language in my map? Should I keep it clean or can I use foul language where I think it w...
