They worked fine for me, you need to re apply the relationships every time a new player joins.

I'm getting rid of that part though because it is a bit too tedious and unforgiving, especially with lives enabled.

Actually that problem on the screenshots was caused by a bug in the current OC SVN mount code, you can get around it for now by joining the server after the map loaded.
