I got round to experimenting with lighting for a scripted GiDeMo concert. I do agree. at present textures are only meant to be color representative (they are almost all stock right now). also I never compile with full vrad or vvis as it takes too long for just a test build.

I guess additional characters would be eeasier to model based of kanade, as all things considered, all the girls have similar body shape and design

You could provide such models? All I need AT PRESENT is a kanade model that isn't insanely blocky. Probably needed later are other weapons including nodas axe, though these I can create if it comes to it. Update: Began work on otonashis train wreck tunnel area. have you seen the mod Underhell for hl2 yet? they have a night day system that uses color correction to get the atmosphere right although it might be tricky for a novice in hammer, also mappers don't use carve ever. yea they are all brushes any very basic at that (i never added proper deatil or textures, only textures are there to tell me whats what (ie windows do have a window texture etc.) i will produce some models, probably with sketchup or (maya if it comes to it, although i lack proficiency with it) @Dorm...

work is progressing, here are a few screens of my current build its entityless except a couple prop_static's and still largely untextured at all.
