I think I had that crash waaay back when, disabling the VGUI model selector and switching over to manual folders fixed it for me. (Might or might not be true)

Not the final lighting process I hope? You could definitely have ambience in some of those rooms (ie. warm lamps in the weapons room signifying a safe place to hold up in or an eerie blue in the electric water maze to match that murky water.)

There is the problem (most of the time), some people get that too when they load in a map for the first time, you could change it to a different map (any) and swap back to fix the problem (unless this was already addressed and I didn't know it)

You might have a leak in the map possibly.

Also where did you put the sky_camera? Inside the playable area or inside a closed off little box of its own (outside the playable area)?

Edit: might as well ask this, ATI or Nvidia gfx card?

I know there was a console command to change how many, was it pounds or something, you can carry but I can't seem to remember. I'm not sure if this will help but always good to check, run a source game once (ie. HL2, CSS, EP2, etc.)

Animated textures on those goo-walls would make everything trippy. Retexture it with random colors and you get insta-LSD :v
