Half-Life: Source Hi-Def models in OC?

Post by Tallfire »

This hyperlink is to a HL:S version of the Half Life hi-def pack. I was wondering if it was possible for me to take the files from that and put them in Obsidian Conflict without messing up the game and to where they work.

The hi-def pack is in a folder named hl1 (which I've noticed is also a folder in the add-ons folder, can I just put it in there? And will it mess the game up if I also put in the weapons files and all that? Also will I have to do anything with the HL1 monster files in the obsidian\models folder?)

(Also, what is the model "barnya"? And how do certain maps use HL1 monsters and npcs without mounts while they appear as errors to people without HL1:S when spawned through console?)

Thank you for any constructive/helpful comments.

the addon system is currently not capable of overwriting stuff, which is why putting those in the special hl1 folder won't do any harm (in fact it would do nothing at worst) see this bugreport: http://bugs.obsidianconflict.net/view.php?id=10
