Hosting Issue

Okay my friend can always host in gmod and cs:s but sometimes in cs:s i get the lan error so he types that sv_lan 0 command and i can join but in this mod it wont work when he types it and it remains lan'd and he has added a exception D: anyone know why We really want to play
