The setup files are corrupt

Before I get to the real problem here, I would like to ask why there are no ways to download this game in a .zip file. All I could find was an .exe and it took me a long time to download. Any reasons why?

After I got the download finished, I was surprised that there are two files in my downloads folder, not one. My download history only shows donwloading oc-beta1.35_full (1) while a plain oc-beta1.35_full exists as well. Spooky...

The plain one, without the (1) at the end, asks what language I would like to install in, does nothing for 30 seconds, and then tells me: "The source file is corrupted."

The one with the (1) at the end is only 523 MBs, not 672 MBs like the first one and like the website says it should be. This one doesn't ask what language I would like to install in and immediately says: "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the game."


I am running Windows 7, and have tried running both of these as administrator. I remember downloading this a long time ago on my Vista computer, experiencing the same problem. I gave up, frustrated after the long download. I also tried troubleshooting compatibility. Any ideas?

Hi, you never really said which link you downloaded from, anyhow the 672mb one is the one you want. Shouldn't need to run as an administator, please be aware that the install can take a while to initialise and install, be prepared to wait 30 minutes on an old system before the installer responds, also ignore any missing model pack pop-ups and continue installation.

It should work, the wait period is the only issue I know of people having with installers, you've got to be real patient.


Just out of curiosity, did you use a torrent?

When i had to re-install again OC i ran it on Administrator and in only a seconds the setup appeared.

Try downloading for another source.
