The only geometry I would create outside of Hammer is displacements. Because I hate the displacement tool in Hammer.

Yeah, although the Sculpt tool of L4D2 is a first step. You use the Wall Worm Tools?

Very nice work on those supports; they really gives the area a great detailed look. I can respect doing work like that because it's among the most tedious to do, it isn't hard to do, but it is so incredibly boring to work on things of that sort and that in itself makes it a challenge. If it ends up looking nice like what you have there it is rewarding. I also can understand disliking the displacement tool as sometimes it can be ridiculously annoying and not do what you want it to do.
That Joiner program looks like it could have some time saving uses for very particular scenarios. I've never seen that before--thanks for linking it here.

What's that map supposed to be? Puzzle map? Or just an experiment?

Experiment. Just an "art" map.

A great idea made by Raiden:
I always thought it was impossible to do without coding, but with using an invisible monitor and a custom texture we made it possible.
Although this was the first photo we took of it, we already fixed the rotation, and the names of the players appearing on it.

I'm confused, what's supposed to be happening here? Minimap?

Camera, instead of a map.

I've also gone one step further than that. I've sucessfully managed to get it running as a communications screen.
While I was at it i also found out how to disable the overview itself from the hud so it turns off when not used and managed to hide the player positions from the window view.
