I just got the permission from Romka to do this:

Finally a real H.E.C.U. arms (not longer those shit HL2 arms reskins). Although he told me that i should try improve the mesh (you can see a bit the silhouette of the polygons despite have smoothing groups applied).

This might sound dumb, but I thought you couldn't replace the Half Life 2 arms because they were part of the weapon model?

The SPAS-12 has the arms separated from the model. Anyway, you can remplace them, that is how i did the blue H.E.V. medkit for the Siege map.

(No idea why, but looks like that Steam makes black sometimes all the photos that you upload)

I needed a M4 with a M203 launcher, and since only a few people allow use their models, i had to get permission to Sephiris and Agent95 for use their great M4 model, and then i did the M203, the animation (which of course is shit) and added the H.E.C.U. hands that i did from Romka.

I was keeping it on secret until the release, but then, i said it before on the public chat of OC that i made a flaregun for my map:

An animator could give the animations that it deserves...

P.D: It works nearly like the original from the leak. The custom ammo allows you set an incendiary proyectile, but you can´t change the proyectile itself.

The HECU arms currently are using three different skeletons (one of them being the HL2 bip). But i only got permission from Romka for this.

Although i thought also on making a pack for HL2. After i´ll release my map, i´ll ask Romka about this plan. If he agree, i´ll do it.

Be warned, since the mesh come from the character model, is looks bad on some parts, like the end of the fingers.

You should improve that! I don't know much of modelling but I think it's not too difficult to add more polys at the fingers and make them more soft, at least that. I've seen your work, and I'm sure you can do it ;)

The rest is about adding properly detailed nails and blahblahblah... but that seems a bit more hard.

I talk from the ignorance so don't take my words seriously.

Best regards, SANIC.

I am loving the HECU arms.
I usually run from rockets.

Around 2500-2900 polys.

Original concept art by Alligator (middle design): http://asg-alligator.deviantart.com/art ... -297853203

Born from the collaboration of Alligator, me and Gary to bring back (to OC on theory) the npc_missiledefense, it was left unfinished when Gary lost the fork where he did all the improvements to the code that fix it.

Now that i finished today making the model (had to do the left gun and the head, that was easy), should i finish doing their UV map, texture and release it (although the npc is bugged), or forget it?

I wish a lot someone would try again fix it, and see this model or another new working. The npc is so useful that it would grant a new gameplay.

Is an extreme early W.I.P., but everybody had a beginning:

The first one who guess what I´m doing, i´ll share with him/her the concept art of the model.
