Ever been so tempted to open those damned crates, hoping that you'll get something nice? But then you open one and get a gunslinger and you're a bit disappointed. But you can't help but wonder, will my next crate be that lucky one? Well, now you can find out, but with less rage-induced tears and a not barren wallet afterwards, with this new doohickey I found while searching the internet:

http://cratesim.appspot.com

My trial until I got an unusual (series 1):

Code: Select all

You got a Unusual: Unusual Hat!

You have used 0 keys without getting an unusual hat.
That's a whopping $0.00!
Your most expensive unusual hat this session cost $450.00 and your cheapest cost $450.00.

On the plus side...
You also got 41 hats, 38 paints, 84 weapons, 16 tags, and 0 duels to go along with your 1 unusuals.
Your last unusual hat's effect was Circling TF Logo.
So, for me it translates to: NEVER OPEN A CRATE EVER.

These simulators merely use the chances and indeed simulate. But even though the chance is small. The next uncrate CAN be an unusual. But yea... Don't open crates with bought keys.

Better yet, don't feed Valve by doing it at all. You're better off idling for mass amounts of hats and then trading those off for Unusuals, if you want one so badly. Heck, get a mass amount of hats, trade those for promo items like Bill Hats and earbuds, then trade those for Unusuals.

I personally don't care about Unusuals and so far have sold all of mine for Paypal money. I even helped W0rf0x sell his.

Btw. Gameplay-wise any eye catching hat is bad. Especially unusuals. I find it really easy to sniper fags who have unusuals because their effects are like a giant arrow pointing to their heads when they walk behind walls or some shit. Personally I do not care for hats. I would rather sell my hats like keychain. But I don't have any worthy of selling. I mean seriously. What is a safe'n'sound worth? Cuz i dont know.

And opening crate series number 9 is just such a waste of time for me,because look, all the time you'll only get paint cans and rarely some good hats

Finding an unusual in this crate is impossible.

Man, I unboxed an Unusual Sola Topi with Burning Flames. The amount of money such things could get me makes me envious.

Which crate did you actually open?

I don't remember.. why? I'm almost certain that it doesn't matter what crate you open, you can find any type of hat with any type of unusual effect. The only crate that is limited to certain hats is the christmas crates, which would obtain the unusual Christmas hats. But I believe they've been added to the other crates now as well.

It would be nice if Valve decided to put in a way to craft Keys and shit if Keychain's suggestion of not feeding Valve resulted in Valve doing something about it.

Crafting Keys? They would take like 12 crates for example. Or 6 refined if you have the guts.
