OMG Turret fun!

Until it's fixed, it IS a lot of fun to be a jackass with the turrets. Especially if you have a friend helping you on Google Talk.

Indeed, there is a way of fixing this without coding but maybe ill just make it so if it kills someone while a player is holding it the player will explode into a firey mess of guts and shit.

or make it a friendly turret so it is still useful.

This is the problem, people will be able to pick them up before they fall over once and do this. And making them disable themselves on pickup would look stupid. So I've been trying to figure out a good way of doing this, and so the only way I can think of is disabling pickup all together.

Maybe joe could add a trigger to them on his maps, like if you pick them up you die or something.

Nah, what if someone wants to pick it up and throw it to kill it? Best is to make it perma-die if it falls down.

But what if the player runs in and just grabs it right away to shoot people with :P
hmm, force remove from hands after a certain amount of time might work.

Hey I have an 2 ideas for a new weapon from the turret =]
It could be that when your up close to a turret you could make a tool [maybe that thing alyx uses on doors and stuff] so it has a bar on screen showing the progress bar of swiching it to good.

Or you could have a thing where where your holding a turret and you can throw like the manhack. :)

I'd say edit the turret model's weight so it can't be picked up with hands or gravgun.

Yeah like a 5 second delay and if he still holds it then he dies

Of course , there are quite alots of objects that cant be grabbed but still can be punted away with the gravitygun in hl2.
