Good site with models that could be modified for OC...

Post by Rukifellth »

Anyone heard of Spriters-Resource, I guess most do, but I believe not too many know of Modellers-Resource, a sister site for Spriters-Resource,

the big difference is that Modellers-Resource work in ripping models and textures for models from games...

So far, there are models from all sort of games like:

Banjo-Kazooie
Sonic games
Mario games
SSBB
Final Fantasy Dissidia
Kingdom Hearts series
Pokemon (yeah, seriously)
Halo series
Star Wars
Evangelion (anime really, but still)
Pikmin
Sin & Punishment
and more...

Perhaps it could be of some help. :)

It's like a garrysmod.org for only models.

Sadly, the main problem with porting these to O.C. is that these are likely not going to be rigged for Source. A lot of player models you see here are just models someone rigged for Source then someone here recompiled it to work with O.C. animations.

Still a useful resource.

The problem you mentioned is true, but I know a friend, Boroko, that is very good at porting models to steam.

Perhaps he could help?

I might try to learn how to rig and convert and compile models to source

Great news!

Boroko also believes that he could help. :)

Just tell which models you want ported. :)

Maybe the Dark Riku, maybe. About the Neon Genesis Evangelion models, i saw them, and are very simple (looks HL1).

Pretty much 90% of O.C. player models are ports from other games. We don't port them directly, often we just download someone's model that has already been ported and recompile them with the proper animations so that they will work with O.C.

Huh? If your talking about the rebel models that come with OC, they came from HL2DM, which is the codebase they used.

If your saying O.C. needs to make their own player models, then you sir are insane, player models(or any complex model) are quite difficult to create from scratch.

Gary, he's not insane. Especially when you consider the fact that Xenoaisam models and makes those models playermodels.

Someone here makes player models? I haven't noticed, so he creates the mesh, textures, rigs, and compiles player models?

Thaaaaat's right, my pal Xenoaisam and Boroko (Dancing Knight Otaku) are MASTERS of the art of modelling...

All the models Xenoaisam has contributed with are made by him, and him only. :)

(altough I'm still expecting a Hi-Rez ViVi in the future. :P)
