Because all the different Halo Spartans in that thread are just bodygroups of a single model, instead of a shitload of separate models.

Thats just the way it goes. Lots of people I know of are awaiting on the new version of the mod. I used to do it with other mods, play when new updates come along.
Just look at Portal a week or two ago.
