Need Help? The Day isnt going so well on the Mapping front?

What is the map editor everyone uses to create maps. I dont know the file name or where to get it, but I wanna test some ideas in mapping.

This ain't no warcraft kid. Mapping is hard and isnt all in on easy to use simple user frendly interface.

Couldn't just give me the name of one, such idiots on this forum just like to take any chance to insult someone when you coulda just said the name of it insted of saying in wrong section this is ok for this section......An answer is all I wanted, and aint the more maps we have for the mod the better jeesh forget it..

It's called Hammer, It's free and made by Valve (I think)
Open Up steam And click the tools tab then download Source SDK, Once downloaded chose the game you want to edit the open hammer BAM your in,
Setting up OC for hammer you have to do a little bit of fiddly stuff but it's simple really.

There is also QuArK, is can apparently make HL2 maps, but I've never tried it before.

afaik QuArK can also make HL² Maps too, but its unofficial, wich means that there could be many bugs. But I never tried it.

Just read it all and follow the instructions. Easy.
