I've released a pre 1.3 test version (oc_warmachine_final_b1), what will be the final version, see first post for download links. Nothing to get too excited about. But I thought it would be a good Idea like W0rf0x to get the map out there and tested.

The 1.3 version, will just have a couple of material fixes, and the alyx gun that was on the floor will be useable.

The map is on [GU]Mayhem's server if your looking for a server running it

Thnx, glad you like it.

It's my first map that I had lights in and compiled, So really it's my first map! I'm pleased with it, It's a bit of a blocky map,but worth playing, dosen't crash quite so often in v1.23 as earlier versions, so its just about finished. I learn't alot about hammer making oc/coop maps more than I would in other mods, it was a good choice. :lol:

Yes, thnx for reminding me.

I'm gonna strip out some of the ammo and weapons from this map, and maybe only let you have the ar wepaon if you pick it up from the elite combine after gonarch's death (one-two combine balls and the gonarch falls). Sad Face

Try and actually make this map a bit tougher.

Also I noticed the second wave of striders dont have agressive behaiour enabled, expect that to be fixed to, as well as some other stuff I go t in my mind.

So, I'm off for two weeks, You lucky people!
Wonder if I'll miss release of 1.3 :cry:
Before I go,...

Working on the lighting, fixed a few bugs, testing 1.3 features. I'll maybe get a quick beta up for 1.3 testers, but unlikely. Plus I sort of have plans brewing within. I want to add detail geometry where it lacks it with a lot of no go areas, I may open up some of the ceilings to reveal a sky up on the surface and I got some new optimisation tricks to use. Lastly I wanna pack MOAR npcs in to it along with as many 1.3 features as I can squeeze in. Oh and I'm adding waypoints as much as possible.

Now the merchant, they have the ability to really change the feel of the map in terms of gameplay. The thing is this map was meant to be high octane in action that's why I threw lots of weapons in there.
I've come up with the following:

A). 3 merchants different choice of weapons (progressive) No weapons or ammo?

B). 3 merchants same weapons different prices (progressive) No weapons or ammo

If I placed 3, one would be near spawn, one would be near teleport destination and one will be hidden up in main arena/core.
So by the time you open arena/core you can go to anyone of the merchants.

With weapons and ammo ^?
Now depending on some upcoming oc features, the question as to whether I completely remove all weapons and ammo from map, Hide some of ammo, items and weapons maybe?

Or I could leave alot of the worthless weapons and only make decent weapons purchasable by merchants.

Or I could have one merchant at the end leave all weapons and ammo and just give him everything, so you can pick what you want with the score you accumalated for the final fight, More of a convienent merchant?

Sounds good to me, Could start with minimal wepaons cause this map dosent take long to score alot of points. But yeah I was thinking along the same lines as you two. Map is gonna get a bit of a face lift. hopefully one that stands the test of old age

I'm slowly but surely getting this map 1.3 ready, I'm sort of going all out action map and throwing in some cs weapons, I'm debating turning this into an ep2 map. I won't be around to work on any of my projects soon so, I'm just pushing to get them fixed 1.3 compatable and out there!

So, new grunts! and custom weapons!

The leader will be beef'd up a bit, maybe I'll name them
