oc_archive mapselect

Welcome aboard oc_archive mapselect.
Organise yourselves, select a mission and move on.

Features:

180 door mapselect.
60 doors are in a secure area of the map.
Server operators can allow access to the secure area by configuring the maps modify.txt to either be openable by the player or locked requiring a 4 digit numerical security code, which can also be configured in the modify.txt.
Also some other features that are well quite pointless but hopefully fun :D

It's not nessercarily at the moment the best in terms of performance and framerate wise but the map is stable. It's my take on a mapselect, I'm not claiming for it to be the most profficient of mapselects, just hopefully a nice alternative, something that hopefully will stand the test of time.

Looks like a great peice of work.

You should replace stunstick breen versus kleiner with something else though. Weve seen enough of them on z-server.

The texturing i know is err 'different' maybe I'll experiment before v1

Well just a note that the map has been up for nearly a week now on my server on and off. I wouldn't consider using this map if your anyone else at the moment. I got quite a few things fixed already but I thought'd I'd attempt to rotate some of those offending textures and well rotating started to turn into retexturing and then I got lost as for what to do. Protostar mentioned the release of his texture pack maybe I'll take a peek see whats in there.
The good news is most people are stable on the map although fps could be better for those on low end cards, everyone noted there is an improvement. I'm still brainstorming Ideas considering reorganising some of the geometery so in places its less complicated. Strangely this map hasn't crashed at all on my server compared to some other maps my server/connection struggles with. Then I do play on the same machine.
Problem is I'm getting used to the map, which isn't really motivating me.

Well I got lots of little minor annoying things still to tidy up, the un fun part of mapping. :o

And finally how to open gravity doors?
I put a quite pointless puzzle in just to slow people down with getting the gravity lock doors open, so there's time to just choose a map and get on with things.
I'm not going to tell you exactly but nothing is really obvious so go round pressing looking for buttons kill things go back press buttons, look in familiar places and lastly if all else fails ask someone else who knows :)

Ok I've given a link in the first post to the 1.3 version of this map so people can use, this is the version with everything pakrated.
This is the same version i was running before I went offline but I know it works ok with 1.3.

What is this map? Its a map selection map it was designed with the dynamic mounting in mind. I used to have hl:s, hl2, ep1, ep2, lostcoast and the csmaps + 80 odd custom maps.

make a few small spaceship ents that u can fly around in space with, maby dogfights with it :D. Then again people might never actually select a map...
