Well, if you could find it, I would very much like to see some screenshots of that Gmod map.


Only way I could have seen an early version ending up there was when I would do some early house-tests with Pumpkin_Masher when the map was halfway done.

If somone yanked the unfinished version, decompiled it and stole my house, then that's your answer.

The house is definately not stolen. I spent alot of time watching the evil dead movies, and pausing and rewinding and watching again. I was also very critical during early tests and made Hickadam relocate objects repeatedly. We spent more time just getting the shape and layout of the house right than anything else.

PS sorry for the big bump, I've been very busy and haven't been around lately.

Are you sure it's actually compiling? Most of the time when that happens to me I find that I have made a change and the changed map has not compiled, but the original map still exists, so it launches that one instead and doesn't come up with an error (since there is a map existing already).

Try re-naming the map name (like, to mymap2.vmf) and re-compiling. Also, check the compile log.

It's actually compiling, but all the changes i added aren't appearing.

I've tried renaming, but once I try to compile under a different name, it doesn't even launch half life 2.

Yea, then it's not compiling.

Look at the progress window while it's compiling and see what it says. Are there any big ERROR's or WARNING's there?

Better yet, use the Interlopers error site - input your compile log and it will usually tell you what's wrong. Or post your compile log here if you can't figure out how to use interlopers. Actually, a better place for this whole thing would be the mapping help forum.

There's also a pretty decent mapping community site in my sig you could look at.

Phew, thank god for interlopers.

There was a brush with the origin texture or something. I haven't tried to compile yet as hammer crashed as soon as i removed the bad brush (You can always count on valve for quality eh? :thumbsupgabe:)

Yeah, too bad I never see any servers running it...
