Too bad the view models are broken (well those parts are normally hidden for optimization) but that's not the point. That looks really cool. I could see something like that happening pretty easy with the kinect.

Wow, it's been 7 years since HL2 came out, and a mod STILL hasn't used the mortar synth the right way.

Modding community I am disappoint.
Oh, don't be such a baby. Episode 3 will come out.

Maybe that is the reason they cut it.

Hovering low above the ground, it was to use its mortar to throw "energy grenades"[2] flinging upwards its rear section, similar to a catapult. It was likely to be used as a support infantry by the Combine, its attack allowing it to hit only far targets, being inefficient at close range (according to the file "skill.cfg" in the Half-Life 2 files, its energy grenades were to have a good range, but only inflict minor damage to targets).

That sounds easy to do, considering that for example we have an entity in hammer that simulates a enemy launching a nade.

He explains it in the Interlopers.net release thread.

True it was short, but it was pretty high quality, brush work and all. I enjoyed it.

Oh and it's really simple, but I threw this together last night.
