[ALPHA]Golden UZIs reskin

YOU NEED THE HOTFIX TO MAKE THIS WORK, SINCE IS THE NEW MODEL


I was bored, so I decided to make the UZIs golden like the ones at Sven Co-op:

As you can see, is not of the best quality. Since I suck at texturing, this is the closest that I can do to achieve a decent gold effect, without retexturing from scratch the original texture.

The ideal way would be using a good texture as a base, and then use a lightwarp, but with the actual texture it doesn't look gold, so I used a custom envmap to approach this effect. The problem is that depending of the amount of light, it will look decent or bad (just like any model with envmaps).

Until I get futher progress at texturing, I will not be able to improve this. So, until then, use this skin if you want.


(I'm surprised that no one did this before).

I don't remember the uzi models being part of the hotfix, lol.
Apparently, Valve can't make games beyond the number 2.
I think the only time we'll get a Source SDK code update is when it starts having purchasable hats integrated, i.e. hatconomy.

Please do not make assumptions you are not knowledgeable enough to make - that just backfires on yourself.

well, i can done some textures work. like vmts or something. i can try that :)

If you are bored, look at the base texture of the UZI. It's needed to make them gold (and with this I mean that it must look as gold, looking metallic, and with "prebaked" lights, not everything being on the same color, that it looks like a yellow weapon).

If that new texture is good, I only would have to add a lightwarp, and done (all the similar models with this technique looks excelent, so it should work).

Avoid double or multiple post, Plasma. Remember that you can edit your posts.

What the hell is happening on the Starship Troppers map? You are playing on low graphics? I have never seen something like that.

And yes, it looks bad. Try something like this skin from Teh Snake: http://css.gamebanana.com/skins/42485

It's overall the texture, it doesn't use nothing more, and it looks great.
